Harvard University Eighty Photographic Views, published in 1896, edited by Moses King, Boston MA. 85 pages, soft cover. 9" x 6 ". Views from King's Handbook of Harvard University. A fabulously produced volume showing extensive period black and white pictures of virtually every building at Harvard. The book has gilt lettered sewn binding with a red felt tassel, some minor soiling to cover. Includes pictures of the Medical School, Dental School, Veterinary School (with horses standing in front), Weld Boat House, The President's Resident, Mathews Hall, Thayer Hall and many, many more. Several of the pictures have street or trolley cars passing by the buildings, some have horse-drawn carriages. A great historical record of Harvard in the late 19th century, pre-automobile era.
