Harvard-Yale Crew Program 1916 (Boat Race). This is a 9" x 12" Official Program of the Yale-Harvard Boat Race, New London, Connecticut, June 23, 1916. 32 page program, some minor soiling to program cover, internal contents are excellent. Includes pictures of the individual crew members from each side and pictures of the Harvard and Yale teams on the water rowing. Includes pictures and bios of each coach and of each of the team's crew quarters and boat houses. Full of nice period advertisements. Cover illustration shows spectators watching from the shore with Harvard and Yale pennants above. The Harvard-Yale "boat race" rivalry is one of the oldest in sport, the two first met on Lake Winnipesaukee in 1852. Yale was coached at this time by the legendary oarsman Guy Nickalls. A rare program.
