- Princeton v. Yale Baseball Championship Program Cover 1898 - Polo Grounds
Program cover, and on the reverse side the Yale side of the scorecard from the "Souvenir card" of the Princeton-Yale Deciding Championship Baseball game in New York 1898. Issued by Judd Publishers. The three color cover shows sketches of the Princeton pitcher, with pennants, and a Yale member up to bat, with pennants. Also sketches of crossed bats. The original owner has penciled on the inside: "Polo Grounds, New York. Saturday, June 18, 1898. He also pencilled in stats for the Yale team listed as: DeSaulles-2db; Wadsw'th-1stb; Wear-cf, Greenway-P; Wallace-rf; Camp-ss; Hazen-3db, Eddy-lf; Sullivan-c. Local ads, one for CYCO, bicycle tire puncture repair. Piece has been folded and a small corner piece has been taped, also top and bottom of creased section, inside. Still a remarkable survivor with great eye appeal.
