Cornell v. Penn Football Program 1922. Cornell. This game was played on Thanksgiving Day at Franklin Field, as was the tradition as the weather at Cornell was not as predictable. Cornell-Penn played the first 68 games in Philadelphia. Since the 1970s game have been held at both Ithaca and Philadelphia. Penn's rivalry with Cornell is the fifth most played college football rivalry of all time. Their first game was in 1893 and have played every year since, except in 1918. Since 1995, the winner of the Cornell-Penn football game has been awarded the Trustees' Cup. 56 pages and includes player photos, action game photos, features on other sports and great vintage '20s advertisements. Rear cover is a bit tattered and creased, otherwise in very good condition. A really fabulous cover of fans and players running after a giant football. The legendary coach John W. Heisman, coached Penn from 1920-1922. He was the coach of this Penn team and there is a picture of him on page 22 yelling into a megaphone. The Heisman Trophy, awarded annually to the season's most outstanding college football player, is named for him. George Pfann, The Quarterback for Cornell 1921-1923 is also in the College Football Hall of Fame.
