Army v. Navy Football Program 1956, game played at Municipal Stadium in Philadelphia. Program is in very good condition. One of the best all-time college football program covers, shows a fan at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia trying to board a train with a piece of the goal post from Franklin Field. The program is illustrated by Gib Crockett, a sports cartoonist for the Washington Evening Star. He illustrated Army-Navy covers for over forty years (1944-1984). Mr. Crockett often used relatives, friends, and acquaintances as models for the individuals portrayed on the program covers. Gib's father-in-law, Pearl Abbott was the model for the bemused spectator coming up from the train platform below. The program is a very large one at 168 pages.
