Army v. Navy Football Program 1945. Municipal Stadium, Philadelphia. December 1, 1945. 200 pages. Some tattering to spine and top cover of program is separating for the first 1/2 inch. Still in very good condition overall. Rare war-time Army Navy Program, with nice cover illustration by Gib Crockett celebrating victories in both Europe and Japan (VE and VJ). Full page pictures of Harry S. Truman, Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal and Secretary of War Robert P. Patterson. Chocked full of period ads from military contractors and others including an unusual one from Baltimore based McCormick spice company directed at the Japanese mentioning the "atomic" bombs dropped on their cities. Black and white pictures and bios of players from both the U.S.M.A and U.S.N.A. The program is illustrated by Gib Crockett, a sports cartoonist for the Washington Evening Star. He illustrated Army-Navy covers for over forty years (1944-1984). A nice victory program!
