Harvard v. Yale Football Program 1897. 131 pages, hardcover book style program. Binding is starting to loosen from cover but the program is still attached. Cover and page edges are soiled and darkened. Game played in Cambridge November 13, 1897. Fabulous old photographs of Harvard and Yale football inside including pictures of both teams. Lists the players from both teams and where they were "prepared" (went to high school). Scorecard inside program is unmarked. Chocked full of Victorian Era advertisements including Whitney's Handkerchiefs for Gentlemen, French Bull Dogs, Knox Hats. Also includes pictures of the Harvard and Yale football teams from 1894, 1896, the Harvard, Yale and Princeton baseball teams from 1897 and the Harvard & Yale crew teams. Includes a list of college yells for several hundred colleges and pictures of the Harvard campus. The back cover has a color advertisement for a carpet store on Boylston Street. The football on the front cover is a different texture than the rest of the cover and has the feel of an actual football, appears to be leather. A  rare specimen with great eye appeal.
