1953 football program featuring Army vs. Navy played at Municipal Stadium, Philadelphia. The legendary Vince Lombardi is pictured as a backfield coach for Army. The program is tight and complete and the overall condition is very good with some fraying to the spine. 175 pages, contains pictures of players from both teams. The program is illustrated by Gib Crockett, a sports cartoonist for the Washington Evening Star. He illustrated Army-Navy covers for over forty years (1944-1984). Mr. Crockett often used relatives, friends, and acquaintances as models for the individuals portrayed on the program covers. This brilliant cover features an enthusiastic fan practicing indoors. His theme for the cover was "Old Timers" and his inspiration was that the older a man gets the faster he could run as a boy. This program also contains a complete listing of all players who competed in any Army-Navy game since 1890.
