Framed print of the first hole at the Springdale Golf Club in Princeton. The frame measures almost 27 inches in width and 23 inches in height. It is gold and has some minor dings and knocks, but overall is still in very good condition. The actual print is 19 1/2 x 15 1/2 inches, it is meant to look like an oil painting but is actually some sort of photographic print. The print is "signed" by William Casey '49. William J. Casey graduated from the University in 1949 and spent his career on Madison Avenue and was an amateur painter of golf landscapes. The images is of the first hole at Springdale and is framed at the end by the Collegiate Gothic-style Cleveland Tower on the campus of Princeton University. Cleveland Tower houses the graduate college.William Flynn, who also redesigned Shinnecock Hills golf course redesigned Springdale in 1927. A lovely piece that displays well.
