Rare 1932 college football program featuring Whittier College vs. the University of Redlands. 16 page paper program in good condition, game played on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th. Future President Richard Nixon played football for Whittier College in 1932 and his name is listed in the centerfold of the program in the position of Tackle. The program has some soiling to several pages and the cover due to its age, it also has an article about the game from a newspaper loosely laid in and it has left a shadow impression on the third page. Whittier's team is known as the "Poets." Nixon graduated summa cum laude from Whittier College in 1934, with a bachelor's degree in history. While at Whittier, he was a football player, student body president and founding president of Orthogonian Society, as well as a member of the Whittier College Board of Trustees (1940-1968). Football programs featuring Nixon are rare.
