Vintage Columbia University Postcard from 1898. Postally unused in very good condition, some light soiling to the front. Produced by the Illustrated Postcard Company, 118 Chambers Street, New York.

The black and white image shows a sparse Columbia campus. The university and its president, Seth Low, decided to move the campus from midtown Manhattan to Morningside Heights in 1897 to have a more spacious setting. This image was taken one year after the move uptown.

Rare.
