Original Dartmouth Winter Carnival Poster 1976. The theme of the 1976 carnival is "A Snow Spangled Salute" in celebration of the 200th anniversary of America's independence. Mt. Rushmore is pictured with a skier. Dimensions approximately 22"x34". Unused having no more than edge nicks or wrinkles, if any. Officially named Winter Carnival, the annual event evolved into a legendary festival once dubbed “the Mardi Gras of the North” by National Geographic magazine. Poster designed by Stephen S. Daniell, class of '79. Our posters were purchased in bulk and come from the college and is not a reproduction.
