Stanford Native Sons of the Golden West Dance Card 1909. Measures 3 1/2 by 5 1/4 inches, covered heavy card stock with a rope and red tassel. A small tear through the program, otherwise in very good condition. The Native Sons of the Golden West is an organization of men were been born in California whose mission it would be to preserve the state’s history. The front cover has a nice image of a Natives Sons logo and "Stanford" written across it. Dance cards originated in the 18th century and were used by women to record the names of the gentlemen she intended to dance with at a formal ball. They were used widely in the 19th century. 8 pages in total. The program lists the order of the dances starting with a two-step.

The program was held at the Fairmont Hotel. A rare dance card from a bygone era.
