Original 1925 Stanford University program for “The FOOTBALL GAIETIES of 1925,” a stage production produced the night before the California versus Stanford “Big Game” of 1925. This is a four-page theater program with the ticket stub included. The gaieties (a tradition that dates back to 1911 and still exists today) were held in 1925 on Friday, November 20, 1925, the night before the Big Game. There is an image of a running player on the front cover. The plays were produced at the Stanford University Assembly Hall and are described as “A Musical Revue in Two Halfs and Fourteen Plays.” The program is in good condition with rusted staples and detached (but complete) contents. There is an additional sheet inside for an upcoming Stanford play in December of 1925, for “In the Next Room” directed by Gordon Davis. This is a fun piece of Stanford tradition from 1925.
