University of Pennsylvania Wedgwood Plate produced in 1940 to celebrate Penn's Bicentennial. The plate is titled Evans Institute Portal and was drawn by Douglas Dobell Ellington (Penn '12). The plate measures 10 3/8 inches in diameter and has the Wedgwood, Etruria, England stamp on the rear. In very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing, although some soiling on the rear and on the front.

The Thomas W. Evans Museum and Dental Institute houses Penn’s School of Dentistry. The building, built between 1912 and 1915, was designed by John Torrey Windrim in consultation with Cope and Stewardson.
