Antique University of Pennsylvania Bisque Hand Painted Porcelain Figurine made by the German firm Gebruder Heubach. Heubach made porcelain figurines between 1840 to 1925. This figurine shows a football player wearing a sweater in Penn's colors of blue and red. Heubach Brothers produced a series of bisque boys with footballs in various poses for the United States market, painting their sweaters in the colors of Ivy League colleges. They were made in two sizes; this example is the larger size. It measures 6 7/8 inches in height.

The underside of the football has the Heubach "sunburst" makers mark on it. A previous owner put their initials and a date in 1936 on the bottom.

Heubach figures are extremely rare.
