1890s Yale Enameline Die Cut Standee. This item stands approx. 5 1/2 inches tall. Colors are great. The item was made by J.L.Prescott & Co in New York in the late 1890s as part of a set of nine dolls representing different colleges. To get the dolls you had to mail in three 2 cent stamps and then you were mailed the dolls. The dolls were made from Enameline boxes. Enameline was a stove polish used in the late 1890s. The card is of a young boy holding a ball, wearing a sweater with a big Yale "Y" on his chest. The figure has been pasted onto heavy card stock.
